Make Your Own Runway

Hey Peacocks!
While on my Facebook page, I came across this wonderful youtube video from one my favorite bloggers Afrobella. It was such an inspiration to me that I just had to share it with my curvy girlfriends. After watching the video, I realized we all have developed fears and insecurities at one time or another mainly because of the influences and unsolicited opinions of people around us. But at the end of the day, its up to us to have the courage to block out the negative noise and keep on our path to our desired destination. I've had this blog for a while but never had the courage to post anything because I was afraid that I wouldn't live up to the fashion writer that everyone wanted me to be (BELIEVE ME I AM NO WRITER). In fact, it was my worst subject in school. LOL... But I have always had the desire to help women like myself to look and feel beautiful. So I felt that a blog was the best way to reach out to women from all walks of life. When watching this video, I realized that I wasn't the only one who had fears of not being perfect, but a well known blogger had those same feelings. She made me realize my life has purpose and destiny, I will be better tomorrow than I was today. The most important message I took from the video was I had to get out of  my own way and do what I was born to do. So here goes nothing, Curvettes my first blog post. I hope you will enjoy it! As Patrice Grell-Yursik said in the video "I think courage should come with a warning label. “May make you sweaty and nauseous, may lead to stomach pains, sleepless nights and heart palpitations.” The actual act of being courageous doesn’t feel good when you’re gearing up for it. But being courageous leads to opportunity – and in my experience, it leads to more opportunities to be courageous.”  And I'm so ready to create my own RUNWAY for more opportunities to be courageous.
